The Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) will have its nominees reveal for the 8th EDDYS (Entertainment Editors’ Choice) tomorrow, July 1 at the Rampa Drag Club in Quezon City. Nominees will compete in 14 acting and technical categories, with major awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
The announcement will be led by Max Eigenmann, 6th EDDYS Best Actress, and RS Francisco, this year’s Isah V. Red awardee.
SPEEd previously announced this year’s special awardees, including GMA Pictures as Producer of the Year, Nathan Studios as Rising Producer of the Year, Ogie Diaz for the Joe Quirino Award, and Crispina Belen for the Manny Pichel Award.
RS Francisco will also receive the Isah V. Red Award for his philanthropic work.
The 8th EDDYS will also honor six veteran stars as Movie Icons: Laurice Guillen, Odette Khan, Perla Bautista, Pen Medina and the couple Rosemarie Gil and Eddie Mesa. The organization will again recognize key figures who contributed to the revival of Philippine cinema through the EDDYS Box Office Heroes.
The awards night will be held on July 20, 2025, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport World Resorts, Pasay City, with a delayed telecast on Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, and worldwide streaming on iWantTFC on July 27.
The event is co-presented by Newport World Resorts and ABS-CBN, and produced by Brightlight Entertainment under Pat-P Daza’s leadership and directed by Eric Quizon.
SPEEd is currently led by Salve Asis of Pilipino Star NGAYON and Pang Masa.
