Music, memories with Zsa Zsa

Health challenges have delayed Zsa Zsa Padilla’s anniversary concert, but the show must go on.

At her recent press conference, Zsa Zsa revealed that her 40th anniversary celebration, scheduled two years ago, did not push through due to health reasons.

Born with a defective left ureter, Zsa Zsa has had urinary tract infections from a young age. For years, she was prescribed strong antibiotics, sometimes as high as 1000 milligrams, to combat the infections.

After seeing pecialists in California, Zsa Zsa eventually turned to surgery, seeking a solution in Singapore after developing a resistance to medication. She consulted with doctors and received recommendations from close friend Alice Eduardo. She underwent robotic surgery in Singapore last August. The laparoscopic surgery — her third operation to treat her “mega ureter” — was a success.

It’s also well-known that Zsa Zsa has previously undergone surgery to correct her scoliosis. Despite these challenges, Zsa Zsa is now ready to take the stage for her anniversary concert to mark her 42nd year. The iconic “Divine Diva” will celebrate her anniversary with a dazzling concert, “Zsa Zsa: Through the Years,” on May 17 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Ayala Malls Circuit Grounds, Makati.

Promising an evening filled with “music, memories, and heartfelt moments,” Zsa Zsa says the event is more than just a concert. It’s a celebration of an incredible journey — a tribute to all the wonderful mothers as it is timed around Mother’s Day and a pre-birthday treat for all to enjoy.

As a multi-talented artist, music has always been Zsa Zsa’s true north star, and the concert will highlight her greatest hits. Zsa Zsa was a member of the legendary OPM group Hotdog, known for its genre-defining sound that laid the foundation for Pinoy music. Following her departure from the group, she went on to release hit singles such as “Kahit Na,” “Point of No Return,” “Hiram,” “Ikaw Lamang,” “Mula sa Puso” and “Mambobola.” She also covered timeless classics like “We’re All Alone,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Through the Years.”

Zsa Zsa’s dedication to her craft and hard work has cemented her as one of the best-selling female recording artists of all time, with a legacy of multi-platinum albums to show for it.

As an actress, Zsa Zsa has showcased her versatility in a wide range of roles across genres, including fantasy, comedy, and drama. Her filmography includes notable works like “Ako Legal Wife: Mano Po 4,” ”Batang PX,” “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” and “Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh.” On television, she has brought to life some of the most memorable and complex characters in top-rating series such as “Budoy,” “Juan Dela Cruz” and “Wildflower.” She has also been a mainstay on ABS-CBN’s long-running Sunday variety show, “ASAP Natin ‘To.”

Through the years, Zsa Zsa has become a benchmark for beauty, talent and success, inspiring a wide range of audiences from industry elites to everyday dreamers.

To make her anniversary show even more special, Zsa Zsa has enlisted some of the best Pinoy artists as her special guests. The concert, directed by Rowell Santiago and with Homer Flores as musical director, will feature performances by Zia Quizon, Karylle, Erik Santos and “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano.

“Let’s relive the songs, stories, and unforgettable moments,” Zsa Zsa said excitedly. “I can’t wait to share this evening with you!”
