Regine Velasquez has received an outpouring of support following a recent hiccup in her upcoming concert series, “Reset.”

The acclaimed Songbird is set to perform a series of shows this year, with “Reset” taking place on February 14, 15, 21, and 22 at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati. Directed by Paolo Valenciano, with musical direction by Raul Mitra, the concert promises a unique experience. For the shows on February 14 and 22, Regine will perform her original songs, while February 15 and 21 will feature only cover songs.

At a press conference on Tuesday, January 14, Regine revealed that SB19’s Stell would be joining her as a guest on February 21. However, the following day, January 15, she posted a statement on social media announcing that Stell would no longer be able to attend due to a “scheduling conflict.”

“This unforeseen issue arose from a miscommunication by our production manager. Unfortunately, we were unaware of the situation at the time of the press conference and announcement. It was only afterward that all parties involved were able to resolve the misunderstanding regarding the scheduled guest appearance,” the statement read. Regine’s sister, Cacai Mitra of iMusic Entertainment, who issued the statement, also apologized to fans who were looking forward to Stell’s performance.

In response, Regine shared the statement on Instagram with the caption, “Well, I’m a little disappointed, but [smiling emoji] see you guys.”

To address the situation, the “Reset” team promptly announced that refunds would be available to those who had purchased tickets for the February 21 show. As soon as the details from TicketWorld were confirmed, they assured fans that “all individuals who request a refund will receive their funds.”

Despite the setback, Regine’s Instagram was flooded with positive messages from fans, assuring her that they would still attend. One commenter, johnreggz24, wrote, “This is unnecessary. I’m only looking forward to seeing Chona [Regine], not anyone else.”

Another fan, elgwapito, said, “LOL sa refund part. Regine is Regine.”

“Jusko ate, no worries. It’s your concert. Tsaka with or without guests, we purchased those tickets because of you. We always wanted to see you perform. May boses or wala, may ngipin man o wala,” added another fan.

“Mama Reg ikaw lang, higit pa sa sapat!” gushed manaitnapinyapple.

krystalvoice04 shared, “Diko irerefund to. Love Stell but will watch it for The Queen.”

Some netizens also praised Regine’s team for their transparency and quick response to the issue.

Whether or not there are guests, it’s clear that Regine’s loyal fans will show up for “Reset,” which promises to offer a fresh experience, with two distinct shows in one series.

“We first thought of just singing my recorded songs. So naka-hang na ‘yun muna, and then I talked to my sister Cacai and asked her, ‘What if we do one night just for originals and one night just for covers?’ Kasi ang dami nun. So if halo-halo lahat, parang I won’t be able to sing most of the songs kasi I have 19 albums. So we wanted to do that,” Regine explained.

She expressed her excitement about performing songs that have not received enough attention or promotion. “Exciting din for me kasi makakanta ko ‘yung mga kanta na minsan ko lang kinanta o ni-record ko lang, tapos wala na,” she said.

She hopes fans will attend both “Covers” and “Originals” shows, as they will each offer a completely different experience. “Pag nakita mo kasi, parang dalawang magkaibang show talaga siya. Ang something in common lang nila is that I recorded them,” Regine shared.

Tickets for “Reset” are available at Ticketnet.
