THE Miss World Philippines Organization (MWPO) signed a special partnership agreement with Megaworld Hotels & Resorts last Wednesday at the Kingsford Hotel Manila.

In the press conference dubbed “When WORLDS Meet,” the prestigious hotel chain was announced as a major sponsor of the forthcoming Miss World Philippines 2022 coronation night scheduled on June 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Megaworld’s properties, as part of the agreement, will serve as the official venues of the various preliminary pageant activities, including: Kingsford Hotel Manila, official residence; Savoy Hotel Boracay/Belmont Hotel Boracay, official resorts hotels/venue for Beach Beauty Competition; Belmont Hotel Manila, venue for Personality Development Session; Richmond Hotel Eastwood, official headshot photoshoot; Twin Lakes Tagaytay, venue for Head to Head Challenge; Hotel Lucky Chinatown, venue for Talent Competition/Beauty with a Purpose Presentation; and Venice Plaza Mall, McKinley Hill, venue for National Costume Competition.

The signatories of the agreement were: MWPO vice president Ryan Ros Calmante, MWPO president Arnold Vegafria, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Group managing director Cleofe C. Albiso and Kingsford Hotel Manila’s general manager Joe Xavier Fijardo.

Also gracing the event were Miss World Philippines and Miss World 2021 top 12 Tracy Maureen Perez and some of the official candidates of Miss World 2022, as well as the officers of the rest of the Megaworld properties.

Vegafria, as national director to Miss World, Miss Supranational and Miss Eco International, revealed that the reigning titleholders of the said global pageants as well as the organizers, are coming to Manila for the grand finale on June 5. He also hinted at a forthcoming big event connected to the pageant that will be announced during the coronation night (the country’s hosting of Miss World finally, or perhaps Miss Supranational?)

The agreement augurs well for MWPO’s reinvigorated marketing campaign built around its new motto: “Exceptionally Empowered Filipinas.”
