TAGUIG CITY, also known as “Probinsyudad ng Taguig,” is throwing 100 percent support for its candidate to Miss World Philippines 2021 which will hold its finals on July 25.
Head turner Asha Gutierrez, 26, a granddaughter of the late movie actor Juancho Gutierrez, is excited to go on her Miss World Philippines journey. “It’s a great honor to represent Taguig City in the pageant,” said Asha, a resident of Fort Bonifacio. “I’m proud to represent my probinsyudad and fellow Taguigeños who have benefited from the holistic approach it takes to caring for its people.”
A young entrepreneur, Asha notes with pride about Taguig’s unique sense of community and unparalleled social services, including in the areas of health care and learning. “I also commend Taguig’s COVID-19 response which has allowed it to pioneer best practices and register some of the lowest number of cases in Metro Manila,” she added.
Asha is also grateful for being able to render public service work as a consultant in the Public Information Office of Taguig. Aside from her pride of place, Asha brings with her a strong portfolio. She’s a graduate of De La Salle University with a degree in Literature; she also recently finished a specialized course in Literature at Oxford University. Asha is also an entrepreneur, and looking forward very soon to launch a digital health care platform that will be accessible to Filipinos.
During an early dinner meet recently with select members of media at La Luna Café in Barangay Hagonoy, Asha was feted with a program where she answered questions and explained her multi-pronged advocacy.
Fully supporting Asha was no less than Rep. Lani Cayetano, who thanked Asha for educating her fellow Taguigeños in facing the problems during this pandemic; as well as Councilor Pamny Zamora.
Current Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Katrina S. Llegado, who is also from Taguig, also graced the event to support Asha.
The Taguig Designers Council officers and members also vowed their strong support for Asha, including Baby Frisnedy Kruz (president), Richard Plania (vice president), Onin Pagsisihan (treasurer and official designer of Rep. Lani and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano) and members Cathy Capistrano, Jhon Cruz, Essie Mendez and renowned swimsuit designer Domz Ramos who created Asha’s red dress for the media meet.
