GOOD day dear readers! We’re back after two and a half months of adhering to quarantine restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is with fervent prayers and great hopes that this global health crisis will end soon and everyone will be ready to embrace the new normal.
Because mass gatherings are not yet allowed, many national pageants, as well as some international pageants have decided to postpone their ongoing searches this year.
But quite a number have decided to proceed with their pageants, albeit with less spectacle, via the digital platform, with Miss Philippines Earth 2020 leading the way in keeping with its constant innovations and reinventions that have made it very interesting and relevant as its two-decades old advocacy of protecting and preserving the environment.
Amidst the recent progression of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country, Carousel Productions decided to have this year’s Miss Philippines Earth pageant through a “Virtual Presentation”. That means, they are going digital; the 33 official candidates are not required to be in Manila, but Carousel will require the delegates to provide photos or videos for the different judging categories and for the finals.
So far, virtual competitions via ZOOM digital platform for COVID Craze Outfits, Talent (dancing & creative Categories) have been concluded.
Roxanne Baeyens of Baguio garnered the most likes online to win the gold medal for the COVID Craze outfit contest. Tsina Jade Chu of Iloilo took the silver while June Cyra Pineda of Talacogon, Agusan del Sur got the bronze.
Pineda also won the gold for dancing, with Diane Rose Hidalgo of Allacapan, Cagayan getting the silver and Chu the bronze.
Patrixia Santos of Daraga, Albay won the gold for creative talent, with Alyyza Tolimao of South Cotabato getting the silver and Rica Mae Ramos settling foe the bronze.
Pageant Watch was privileged to be one of the judges for singing last Wednesday, June 3.
