THE Tiger City of Mandaluyong has another “roaring” candidate in this year’s edition of Miss Philippines Earth after Roni Meneses who was crowned as Miss Philippines Fire last year.

Jennifer Atega de Asis

She is the statuesque (5’8″) Jennifer Atega De Asis, 25, with a 34-24-34 tale of the tape, who recently made it as one of the top 20 finalists of the advocacy-driven pageant after a series of virtual preliminary competitions.

Jennifer took up Marketing and Advertising at De La Salle University Dasmariñas. She is a niece of Yedda Marie Kittlstvedt Romualdez who won as Binibining Pilipinas International in 1996 and served in Congress as the Representative of the 1st District of Leyte.

“I have many plans listed in mind so i’m just gonna share with you a piece of my ambitions because the rest will be my secret,” Jennifer winked. “I’m planning to start my own business overseas as I want to be a renowned CEO. I also want to be in show business, be a singer or an actress. It’s also a dream of mine to build my own charitable foundation and help people in the best way I can.”

Jennifer believes her future is already written in the stars so “whatever kind of woman I want to be in the future will surely make my younger self proud.” Right now, she’s still in the process of building herself and her career.

Jennifer’s advocacy focuses on renewable energy which, for her, is the best source of energy. “It’s considered to be the cleanest source of energy that everyone will benefit from,” she explained. “People should convert to renewable energy due to the alarming effects of climate change that we’ve been experiencing. If we don’t act now, our future generations will suffer. I hope people will be enlightened about our ecological concerns and those in authority will help them to be environmentally aware.”

The top 20 finalists will undergo a series of face to face competitions leading to the grand finals to be held in Coron, Palawan on August 6.

The winner will represent the Philippines at the 22nd Miss Earth global finals later this year.
