Laguna scientist favored to win Miss Philippines Earth crown

YLLANA Marie Aduana, a licensed medical laboratory scientist from Siniloan, Laguna, is the overwhelming favorite to win the coveted Miss Philippines Earth 2023 title from a field of 28 contestants representing cities, municipalities, provinces as well as Filipino communities across the seas.

Aduana, who is making a comeback after finishing as a runner-up in the 21st edition of the tilt which was held virtually because of the pandemic, has been cited in practically every preliminary activities, including winning the gold medals as Darling of the Press during the press presentation at Lime Resort Manila and swimsuit competition in Talakag, Bukidnon; bronze in the talent competition, as well as 6 other special titles and citations from sponsors and host LGUs.

The 24-year-old, 5’7” beauty had previously won the virtual Miss FIT Philippines 2021 and made it as a top 12 finalist in Binibining Pilipinas 2022 where she also won the Face of Binibini (Miss Photogenic) award.

Among the other favorites are: Kerri Reilly, 20, from Mangatarem, Pangasinan; Sha’uri Livori, 19, from the Filipino community of Melbourne, Australia; Meri Lasil Relevo, 19, from Balayan, Batangas; Athena Auxillo, 20, from Toledo, Cebu; Cea de Jesus, 27, from Taguig City and Queenzel Daryl Alacio, 24, from Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The 23rd edition of the advocacy-driven pageant, to be hosted by Robi Domingo, will hold its grand coronation  at the Toledo City Sports Center (Megadome) in Toledo City, Cebu tomorrow night, April 29. The finals will be streamed live on the pageant’s Facebook page and YouTube channel and will be aired on April 30 on A to Z Channel 11 at 10 a.m.

Cebu’s two Miss Earth winners Karla Henry Ammann and Jamie Herrell will make a special appearance as backstage commentators during the finals.

The winner will succeed Jenny Ramp and will vie for the 23rd Miss Earth to be held in Vietnam later this year.

The grand coronation night of the 2023 Limgas na Pangasinan, the much awaited highlight of the comebacking face-to-face Agí«w na Pangasinan and Pista’y Dayat, will be held at the Capitol Plaza in Lingayen, Pangasinan tomorrow.

We have singled out three beauties – Kathie Lee Berco of Alaminos, Nikhisah Buenafe Cheveh of Binmaley and Rona Lalaine Lopez of Mangaldan – as the most likely bets to take the coveted crown.

We will be covering the finals as we did the grand press presentation held last March 26 at Monarch Hotel in Calasiao, Pangasinan.
