LAST June 27 at Okada Manila, Myron Jude Ordillano of Parañaque City was selected as Mister International Philippines 2022 who will be the host delegate to the Mister International next month.

Ordillano’s runners-up – Mark Avendaño of Biñan, Laguna; Michael Ver Comaling of Leyte; Kitt Cortez of San Juan City and Andre Cue of Cagayan de Oro City – were assured by Mister International Philippines (MIP) Organization president Atty. Manuel Deldio that they will be given their own pageant assignments and bestowed their own titles.

That much-awaited day for the princes to be heralded as kings finally arrived last week when their “sashing” ceremonies were held at Novotel Manila.

Wearing dapper suits by Ryan Chris, the five erstwhile runners-up were bestowed their own official banners.

Avendaño was bestowed the title Mister Global Philippines and will vie for the 10th Mister Global finals to be held in Chiangmai, Thailand in December.

Comaling was named Mister National Universe Philippines by its national director Loty B. Nayo. He will compete for the international pageant in Thailand in June 2023.

Cortez was given the title Mister Tourism International and will compete for the finals in Bali, Indonesia in December.

Cue, was awarded the Caballero Universal Filipinas banner, becoming the first ever Filipino and Asian to compete in the Venezuela-based pageant this November.

An additional title, Mister Beauté Internationalí¨, was awarded to John Ernest Tanting of Cebu. Tanting finished sixth overall in the MIP finals last June and will compete in Turkiye with a female counterpart who will be selected from an audition that the organization will conduct soon.

The sashes, bearing the brand names and logos of their respective international pageants and Philippines proudly emblazoned on them, were presented by MIP Organization officials spearheaded by Atty. Deldio, along with other organization officials, including Norman Tinio, Ameer Gamama, and national director Nayo.

The new kings took their oath to uphold their duties and responsibilities as role models and influencers and promote the ideals of MIP as a prestigious pageant organization.

The new MIP kings were grilled by the press in a Q and A hosted by Nico Locco.

As the first to compete internationally, Ordillano was also bestowed the title of Mister Keman, the major presenter of this year’s Mister International in Manila. Eric and Vina Yapjuangco, owners of Keman skin care products, presented the banner.

Miss Universe Cambodia 2022 Manita Hang was a special guest at the event, lending her Eurasian — she’s half French — beauty and grace. Manita was set to visit Cebu and Surigao for a vacation and subsequently train with Kagandahang Flores for pageant skills.
