Congratulations to the winners of two pageants, one held out of town, the other out of the country at the close of 2022, capping the year’s pageant season.
Last December 29, at the Tokyo Prince Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, former actress-singer and former mayor of Tacloban City Cristina Gonzales Romualdez, representing Philippines-Visayas, won the top title of Noble Queen of the Universe in the fourth edition of the beauty tilt for married women and single mothers that advocates for noble causes.
The other winners were: Leira Buan of Philippines-Mindanao, Noble Queen International; Yuki Noguchi of Japan, Noble Queen Globe; Sheralene Shirata of Philippines-Luzon, Noble Queen Earth; Jenny Miglioretto, Noble Queen Tourism; Marjorie Renner of the USA, Noble Queen of the Universe LTD.; Ritchell Catt, Advocate Queen.
The intimate event was graced by Noble Queen of the Universe Ltd. (NQULI) founder Eren Noche, NQULI national director Patricia Javier (who was also the first Noble Queen of the Universe titlist in 2019) and Dr. Rob Walcher III, Javier’s husband who hosted the show.

Last December 30, 2022 at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center in Vigan, Ilocus Sur, the 10th Miss Tourism Philippines finals was held to select the country’s tourism ambassadors to help promote the tourism recovery program as the pandemic is now on the downslope.
Isabela’s Rachel Bayan was crowned as Miss Tourism Philippines Queen Worldwide 2022, Marinduque’s Diane Rose Jamolin as Miss Tourism Philippines World 2022 and Sweetline Buaquina of Tarlac Province as Miss Tourism Philippines Universe 2022.
The three winners will compete in their respective international pageants – Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide, Miss Tourism World and Miss Tourism Universe later this year.
Runners-up, in order, were: Clare Arce of Ilocos Sur; Atacia Juliana Mejia of Rosario, Batangas; Justine Mae Pelgone of San Mateo, Rizal; and Laura Sophia Fernan of Cardona, Rizal.
“You all ladies really showcased your capability, talent and personality as empowered women of todays’ generation. Let us continue being tourism advocates for the better future ahead of us!” said Amy Sunio-Abarquez, president of Miss Tourism Philippines Inc. (MTPI) and Miss Tourism Queen Worldwide International, as she congratulated the winners at the conclusion of the pageant.
With Ms. Abarquez at the event were Antonio Abarquez, MTPI chief of finance; Dr. John Weinstein, international affairs director, and Maye Anne Abarquez, event director.
