Kathryn Bernardo has been honored with the Snow Leopard Rising Star Award at the 2024 Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) in Los Angeles, California. The festival recognized her as “one of the Philippines’ most bankable and beloved performers,” acknowledging her immense popularity not only as a box-office queen but also as a key figure in global entertainment.

“It is such an honor to be here, representing my fellow Filipinos and my home network, ABS-CBN. Thank you so much to the AWFF, my family, my mom — who’s here, my friends, my mentors, and to everyone who has believed in me throughout this journey. May we all continue to tell stories that will touch people’s lives,” Bernardo shared during her emotional acceptance speech.

Her film “Hello, Love, Again,” where she reprises her role as Joy opposite Alden Richards, has made history, grossing over P1.06 billion as of Saturday, November 23, according to ABS-CBN Films. This marks the first Filipino movie to surpass P1 billion at the worldwide box office. The film also set records both domestically and internationally, becoming the highest-earning local movie in the Philippines and the first Philippine film to enter the US box office Top 10, debuting at No. 8.
