Lead actor Richard Gutierrez is mighty proud of Kapamilya top-rating series “Iron Heart.”

At Thursday’s finale press con of “Iron Heart” at the ballroom of Seda Vertis North, the actor opened up about the intense year-long portrayal of the character. The series has been a consistent top-rater and fan favorite and his role has earned him many admirers, who have been comparing him to screen agent James Bond due to the undeniable suave and charisma he brings to the action series.
When asked about the comparison to the iconic international spy, Gutierrez shared, “Siyempre nakakatuwa nako-compare tayo sa international, pero ang objective talaga namin dito is to tell our own story and create a different flavor of action for Filipinos all over the world. To make a show that we can be proud of, na kaya rin ng Pinoy gumawa ng ganitong klase. To be honest, we were pressed for time, ang daming challenges yet binigay namin ‘yung best namin so in the future kung magkaka next project and if we are given more time, we can actually compete globally.”
The challenges and demands of playing Apollo were indeed immense, but Gutierrez and the entire team, led by directors Lester Pimentel Ong, Ian Loreños, and Wang Yan Bin, behind “Iron Heart” rose to the occasion, delivering rich storytelling and top-notch action sequences shot all over the country and even in Italy. Will there be a season three? Or perhaps a movie? Gutierrez keeps an open mind, acknowledging that the story and characters hold great potential for further exploration.
“The story of the ‘Iron Heart’ is designed to last. Marami pang pwedeng puntahan to be honest ang storyline namin. Even ‘yung mga characters, marami pang pwedeng puntahan.
Season three we’ll see if it’s feasible to do. But definitely, we will take a break. Everybody needs a break.“
The physical and mental toll of producing a high-octane action series like “Iron Heart” is great, and Gutierrez is keen on ensuring that the show maintains its quality.
“Like what Direk said, it’s exhausting physically, mentally and we don’t want the show to suffer, ayaw namin hintayin na ‘yung mga audience namin gusto na matapos ang show.
Gusto namin tatapusin namin ang show while everybody’s happy pa with the show. Nag decide kami to end strong,” he said.
In its final two weeks, viewers can expect more exhilirating twists and pasabog. For Richard, it’s a season of savoring the well-deserved break and looking forward to what the future holds, whether it’s a new season, a movie adaptation, or other exciting projects.
