Former actor Mark Lapid, who currently is the chief operating officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), recently completed his Doctorate in Business Administration from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
This academic achievement adds to his qualifications as a leader in the tourism sector, where he has overseen significant projects, including P3.762 billion worth of infrastructure developments since 2022. Lapid’s advanced studies in business administration are expected to support his role in managing TIEZA’s operations and strategic initiatives.
Lapid holds a Master of Management, majoring in Development Management, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Angeles University Foundation. He has also completed leadership programs at Stanford University and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
His leadership at TIEZA includes launching the Online Travel Tax Services System (OTTSS) and securing ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 9001:2015 certifications. He has also advocated for the preservation of historic sites like Rizal Park and Fort Santiago, contributing to sustainable tourism development.
