WRITER-DIRECTOR Jason Laxamana takes viewers to a captivating journey into the world of reality television with his latest project, “The Ship Show.”
The Viva Entertainment film delves into the layers of a reality show while capturing the radiant chemistry of its lead stars, Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo.
“The Ship Show” offers a glimpse into the creation of reality contests — and contestants.
Laxamana’s skillful direction pulls back the curtain on what a reality show truly entails – “Drama” according to one of the characters – and shows the myriad of characters before and behind the cameras.
MARCO Gallo and Heaven Peralejo prove once again their undeniable chemistry in “The Ship Show.”
Viva Entertainment has a winner in the Jason Laxamana movie, “Ship Show,” now showing in theaters.
At the heart of the film, the luminescence of Marco Gallo and Heaven Peralejo shines through. Gallo’s portrayal of a tough-on-the-outside-but-sensitive-on-the-inside contestant highlights his natural on-screen charisma. Peralejo’s performance, on the other hand, conveys vulnerability and strength in equal measure and adds depth to her character.
The chemistry between the “MarVen” team is electric, as their characters’ relationship becomes the film’s emotional core. The other characters give noteworthy performances as well. Tomas Rodriguez and Ashtine “Tintin” Olviga have their own hilarious moments; musical couple Migo Valid and Janine Tenoso are also allowed to shine. There are no real antagonists in the show, so the narcissistic PJ Rosario and vain Angelic Guzman’s characters’ pathetic attempts to win are more laughable than despicable.
Overall, “The Ship Show” is a highly entertaining movie that checks all the marks for fans who want to have a fun time at the movies and dazzled by MarVen love team.
