GMA Public Affairs’ “Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila” is set to conclude its run this Friday, June 13, with an action-filled finale that promises high stakes and emotional moments.
In the final week, Lolong (Ruru Madrid) faces his most dangerous mission yet as he risks his life to protect his loved ones. Elsie (Shaira Diaz) once again falls into the hands of the menacing Ivan (Martin del Rosario), while the return of Lolong’s crocodile ally, Dakila, marks a major shift in the fight between good and evil.
Reflecting on the finale, Madrid described the experience as a callback to the series’ beginnings:
“Very nostalgic kasi parang bumabalik din ‘yung Season 1. May mga eksena kaming ginawa na kung papaano namin shinoot noong Season 1 na kaming dalawa ni Elsie, ngayon nadagdagan na kami. Meron kaming napag-agreehan na isang eksena na parang never ko pang napapanood ‘yun sa tanang buhay ko.”
He also shared how the show impacted him personally:
“Etong Lolong ‘yung nagpabago talaga sa buhay ko – hindi lang sa pagiging artista, kundi sa pagiging tao. Sa kabila ng lahat ng binabato sa’yo ng mundo, na bigla kang magkaka-injury, biglang magkaka-pandemic, biglang magkakaroon ng kung ano mang aksidente – ‘yun ang nagsisilbing lakas sa akin para lalong pagbutihin ang mga ginagawa ko.”
The crocodile-themed action-adventure series follows Lolong’s deep bond with the giant crocodile Dakila. In this latest season, the story shifted to Manila, where Lolong confronted unpredictable threats in an urban jungle.
The series also features Jean Garcia, Tessie Tomas, Rowell Santiago, Rochelle Pangilinan, Paul Salas, Mikoy Morales, Elle Villanueva, Yasser Marta, Ketchup Eusebio, Matt Lozano, Rabiya Mateo, Sienna Stevens and Nathaniel Enaje.
