Veteran politician Lito Atienza, who is vying to return to Congress as the representative of Buhay Party-list, revealed that his son, Kim Atienza, has firmly decided to stay out of politics despite encouragement from prominent figures.

“Ayaw nya,” Atienza said, sharing that senators had approached Kuya Kim, urging him to bring his intelligence and charisma to public service.

The elder Atienza noted that as a television host, Kuya Kim enjoys the freedom to pursue his interests, including his passion for bikes and cars. “He has chosen a life that allows him to focus on his hobbies,” he explained.

In contrast, Atienza’s daughter, Chi Atienza, has decided to follow in his political footsteps, running for vice mayor of Manila alongside Isko Moreno. Atienza shared the advice he gave his daughter: “Pray and heed your heart, making sure that whatever decision you make will not negatively affect your family.”

“I throw my full support behind Chi and Isko. And I’m confident they will win,” Atienza stressed.

As the first nominee of Buhay Party-list, Atienza is joined by Carlos Atienza (third nominee) and Marco Sario, a basketball player and actor who graduated with honors from Ateneo. Together, they aim to champion the respect for life and uphold traditional values on marriage.

“Right now, what’s happening in Congress is a lot of investigation. But the people did not vote them there to investigate,” observed Atienza.

“Kumusta ‘yung kuryente natin? ‘Yung presyo ng mga bilihin? We at Buhay want to do something about the rising cost of living,” he added.
