Cavite 2nd District Congresswoman Lani Mercado-Revilla recently completed her Master’s degree in Sustainable Leadership and Governance with Highest Distinction from De La Salle University-Dasmariñas in August 2024. She began the program in 2022, initially attending online classes while recovering from COVID-19.

Mercado-Revilla utilized projects from the City of Bacoor in her coursework, incorporating them as case studies to explore governance issues. Her thesis, titled “Establishing the City of Bacoor Mangrove and Ecotourism Park: Converging Governance and Nature,” reflects her focus on integrating environmental initiatives with local governance.

Her sons, Agimat Partylist Representative Bryan Revilla and Cavite First District Representative Jolo Revilla, joined her in celebrating this achievement.

“Gaano man kahirap ang pag-aaral o anuman ang ating edad, dapat maging bukas tayo sa lahat ng pagkakataong matuto. “It is a continuous journey to excel in life. Matapos ang ating hirap at pagod sa pag-aaral, ang kaalaman na ating natutunan ay walang katumbas,” said Cong. Mercado-Revilla.

In her role as a legislator, Mercado-Revilla has been an advocate for education in Bacoor. She authored House Bill No. 9803, which seeks to establish the Cavite State University – City of Bacoor Campus, and House Bill No. 10269, which proposes the creation of the Bacoor City National Science and Technology High School. Both bills have advanced in the legislative process. Additionally, she sponsored House Bill No. 9087 to establish the Sentrong Pangkultura at Museo ng Lungsod ng Bacoor, aiming to preserve local culture.

Several of her sponsored bills have been signed into law, including Republic Act Nos. 12008 and 12007, which created the Progressive Elementary School and Progressive Senior High School, respectively, and Republic Act No. 11946, establishing the Padre Mariano Gomes National High School.
