Kyline Alcantara, a true triple threat with exceptional talents in singing, dancing, and acting, is set to make a dramatic return to television as a kontrabida in the highly anticipated Philippine adaptation of the 2009 hit K-drama “Shining Inheritance.” This project marks a significant milestone in Kyline’s flourishing career as she embraces the challenge of playing an antagonist once again – a role she last took on five years ago in “Kambal, Karibal.”

Managed by Manny Vallester in collaboration with GMA Sparkle Artist Center, Kyline epitomizes the total package artist. Her return to the kontrabida role highlights her versatility and depth as an actress. However, Kyline candidly shared that stepping back into the shoes of a villain has her feeling a bit apprehensive.

“Natatakot ako bilang kontrabida ulit, kasi kung dati pong comfort zone ko siya, ngayon hindi na po so kinakabahan po ako,” Kyline confessed, revealing a mix of excitement and nerves. It’s this very dedication to pushing her boundaries that makes her one of the most compelling stars in the industry today.

This time, Kyline will acquaint audiences to the complex character of Joanna Dela Costa.

“Joanna is really complicated. Sobra. Mabait naman po si Joanna, pero may ginagawa lang po talaga siya na hindi maganda. And Joanna’s feisty, she’s aggressive also. At isa po sa hindi magandang nagagawa ni Joanna ay feisty and aggressive din po siya pagdating sa lola niya,” Kyline said.

Joining Kyline in this star-studded adaptation are Kate Valdez, Paul Salas, Michael Sager, and the legendary Coney Reyes. Kate, typically known for her kontrabida roles, will undergo a significant transformation in this series, taking on a character with a softer, more vulnerable side.

“Marami naman palang tao na naniniwala na ‘Ah, nakakaawa naman pala talaga siya, hindi siya masungit.’ So I think baka ‘yun din po ‘yung nagustuhan nila at makita nila ngayon na ‘sige, ‘wag muna natin pagtarayin si Kate,'” Kate shared, embracing this new direction in her career.

Kyline and Kate’s on-screen chemistry is set to sizzle with intense catfight scenes, as Kyline hinted at some explosive interactions between their characters. This promises to be a treat for fans who enjoy high-stakes drama.

Paul Salas, who will share scenes with the iconic Coney Reyes, expressed his excitement about working alongside the seasoned actress. After their first meeting, Paul was immediately struck by Coney’s professionalism and dedication.

“Sabi ko ‘parang ang sarap niyo pong katrabaho,’ parang sinabi ko sa kanyang ganyan. ‘Yes. Pero ‘pag work, work sa akin,’ sabi niya. So dun mo makikita ‘yung pagka-professional. And iba talaga dun ‘yung importante rin sa kanya ‘yung samahan ng iisang team,” Paul shared, clearly in awe of her work ethic.

Coney Reyes, a revered veteran of Philippine television, is particularly thrilled to be returning to the afternoon time slot.

“Pine-pace ko rin ang sarili ko. I love to work, I love my work. And I want to be very, very careful and a good steward of what God has given me. So I just want to make sure that when I use it, I use it for good. Hindi lang ‘yung basta-basta,” Coney explained, underscoring her commitment to carefully choosing roles that resonate with her values.

Adding further star power to the cast are Wendell Ramos, Aubrey Miles, and Ariel Rivera, who will portray Kate Valdez’s father. With such a diverse and talented ensemble, ‘Shining Inheritance’ is poised to be a major hit.

Directed by Jorron Lee Monroy, the Philippine adaptation promises to inject fresh energy into the beloved story originally starring Lee Seung Gi, Han Hyo Joo, Moon Chae Won, and Bae Soo Bin. The plot follows a wealthy young woman who loses everything after the death of her father, setting the stage for intense drama and emotional twists.

With the unwavering support of her management and her incredible talent, Kyline Alcantara is more than deserving of the big breaks coming her way. As she takes on the challenging role of Joanna Dela Costa, fans can expect nothing less than a stellar performance from this multi-talented star. Kyline’s return as a kontrabida is not just a comeback – it’s a powerful testament to her growth and evolution as one of the most promising artists in the industry today.

The Philippine adaptation of “Shining Inheritance” is set to premiere on September 9 at 4 p.m. on GMA.
