Kris Aquino recently shared a new health update on social media.
On Instagram, Kris revealed the worsening state of her autoimmune conditions and the difficult decisions she has had to make to keep fighting.
“On purpose matagal akong hindi nag upload,” she began her lengthy post. “I have to admit if I told you what was happening, some of you may stop praying because my autoimmune diseases were increasing in number and my life-threatening ailments needed me to make a brave choice.”
Kris shared spending nearly two months at a private beach property owned by what she described as a “kind and generous family” who offered their place for her to recover her health and strengthen her faith.
She revealaed she is set to undergo another intensive round of treatments, including a six to eight-hour infusion session involving a strong immunosuppressant.
She will be in “preventive isolation for six months” and will stay at “Alto” — their family compound in Tarlac.
Kris also opened up about how her health is affecting her children. She said her eldest son Josh has become distressed and traumatized after seeing her frequently attached to an IV drip.
“Since the deaths of his Lola Cory, Lola P and Tito Noy, seeing me frail, weak, often attached to my IV drip — Kuya is traumatized, visibly shaking, repeating ‘Mama get well, I love you,’” she wrote.
Josh, she added, is staying with her’ “genuinely super loving cousin.”
As for Bimby, who recently turned 18, Kris thanked him for his maturity and strength throughout her battle.
“Bimb… has sacrificed much to take care of me. He is heaven’s gift, my optimistic adult who reminds me I should ‘never surrender,’” she said.
After undergoing more tests and treatment sessions, Kris has a plan to open up more about her odeal.
“After a few more scheduled tests and treatments, and my recuperation — Bimb and I are ready to reveal all and show you everything for the first time. Please continue praying, kailangan na kailangan ko.”
She ended the message by thanking her doctors, nurses and hospital staff from Makati Medical Center and St. Luke’s BGC, along with her personal medical team.
The actress-host has been battling multiple autoimmune diseases since 2020. She have sought treatment abroad, flying to the United States in 2022 for further testing and care in Texas. She returned to the Philippines last year, seeking support from family, friends and her medical team. She would post update on her condition on social media, asking for prayers and thanking her fans for their continued support.
