Kim Chiu stars in Prime Video’s “Fit Check: Confessions of An Ukay Queen,” an Amazon Original comedy-drama series that will start airing next month. “¨The eight-episode series, produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape Entertainment, is set to premiere July 6 exclusively on Prime Video in the Philippines and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
“Fit Check: Confessions of An Ukay Queen” also stars Jake Ejercito, Angel Aquino, Kylie Verzosa, and Christopher De Leon. Nuel Naval directed this series with a script from Genesis Rodriguez.
Much like the ukay (secondhand) clothes that she sells, Melanie (Chiu) was also “discarded,” abandoned by her own mother when she was a baby. She dreams of making it big as a fashion designer, to prove her worth and show her mother that she should’ve never left her. She finds the opportunity of a lifetime when a handsome young fashion executive, Chris (Ejercito), takes notice of her talents. As Melanie steps into the fast-paced and cutthroat world of the Filipino fashion industry, she also finds herself on a journey towards self-awareness, empowerment, forgiveness, and the possibility of true love.
