The next round of showdown is set to take place this August 25, 2023. Filipinos, Indonesians and other supporters all over Asia show their support as King continues his journey towards a potential victory. Music enthusiasts and fans are encouraged to stay tuned via Indosiar, one of the major television networks in Indonesia with 26.3M YouTube subscribers. It streams live on Vidio, an Indonesia-based over-the-top video streaming service.

King, a multi-hyphenated singer, is one of two representatives from the Philippines who continuously impresses both the judges and the audience with his captivating performances and exceptional vocal prowess.

He says that he is beyond thankful for this feat.

“I joined ‘D’ Academy Asia 6’ without much expectation since Dangdut is a new genre to me. But as the competition went on, I learned and appreciated how beautiful Dangdut music is. I am grateful for being given this opportunity to learn and represent the Philippines on an international stage.”

As a Filipino talent in this new generation, King elevates his singing skills by learning and performing Dangdut songs – a genre of Indonesian music that combines elements of Arab and Malay folk music. Admittedly, this new genre was not a walk in the park for King. “Up to now, I’m still having a hard time learning Dangdut songs and Cengkok because, aside from my different style, which is pop R&B, the Philippines has western influence, which is quite different from Indonesia’s.”

He also expresses his gratitude to his support system, including his family, the Lx2 Entertainment family, and fans from the Philippines and Indonesia.

“To my Kingsters family Philippines and Indonesia, I love you all guys! Thank you for all your eort screaming and staying up late just to watch me perform. You are my strength; I love you all! Terimaksih banyak aku mencintaimu!” he ends, “I hope you will never get tired supporting me.”

In Dangdut Academy, King will be up against fellow Filipino contender Lovely Restituto and other incredibly talented singers from Indonesia and Brunei.
