AGA Muhlach was surrounded by friends “from way back,” he said, at the premiere of his movie with Alice Dixson, “Nuuk,” at SM Megamall Cinema last Monday. One of his friends was former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, who was his “Bagets” co-star in the 1980s.
“We were neighbors, too, in New York Street in Quezon City for years,” said Mayor Herbert.
“We seldom get in touch because of our busy careers, pero nanatili kaming magkaibigan.
“Aga personally invited me to this event. And I said, why not? Parang reunion ko na rin ito sa mga dating kaibigang aktibo pa hanggang ngayon sa showbiz,” he added.
Herbert himself has returned to showbiz. He just completed his first digital movie for iWant, a Dreamscape production.
Directed by James Robin Mayor, it is titled “Silly Red Shoes” starring teen performers Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri.
Both Francine and Kyle are seen daily in the top series, “Kadenang Ginto.”
He will soon do a teleserye for ABS-CBN with Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
Guess who will be directing the series’ pilot?
Cathy Garcia-Molina, who, according to Mayor Herbert, is one of the best film and TV directors in town.
Mayor Herbert laughingly revealed he regrets not being able to go with Liza, Enrique, and Direk Cathy at the taping of the series in Croatia.
“Wala daw akong kukunang eksena sa Croatia, they explained to me,” Mayor Herbert related. “Pero, they assured me, in Paris daw, marami akong eksenang kasama. In that case, what more can I ask for?”

We had the chance to burp into Harlene Bautista at the premiere of “The Art of Ligaw,” at Trinoma last November 5.
Harlene is the youngest and only sister of Mayor Herbert. She was with current boyfriend, Neil Eugenio, who was also with her and ex-husband Romnick Sarmenta in “That’s Entertainment.”
Neil is now a businessman. Harlene, as we all know, is head of the film production house, Heaven’s Best Entertainment.
She is, likewise, a restaurateur.
“Dati, katulong din niya sa pagma-manage ng restaurant si Romnick. But we all know what happened to their marriage,” said a kibitzer. “Balitang nag-file na ng annulment si Harlene.”
Romnick now has a new girlfriend, and is back to acting, too. He is with Coco Martin in the top series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, reminds Alice Dixson of Canada, where she lived for 10 years with ex-hubby Ronnie Miranda.
They divorced in 2013. Later, Alice decided to return to local showbiz.
“Compared to Canada, colder ang Nuuk. Covered with snow ang lugar all year round. No wonder, iilan lang ang nakatira,” said Alice. “Now, why I live in that place is because I was married to a Dane, with whom I have a son.
“But he’s supposedly the reason why I met Aga,” she said. “At ang ganda rin ng kuwento ng character ni Aga. Hahangaan n’yo ang performance niya. He’s not only good but excellent. Napakagaling ding direktor ni Direk Veronica (Velasco). Truly, I am glad I did this movie,” she concluded.

Aga is also one of the executive producers of “Nuuk,” with OctoArts Films and Viva Films.
He has another movie, the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Miracle In Cell Number 7,” with Bela Padilla and child actress Xia Vigor.

Kathryn Bernardo will not mind postponing her reunion series with Daniel Padilla, if, indeed, he has a movie with Sarah Geronimo.
“It’s a dream project, pag nagkataon,” said Kathryn. “Lalo if true that Star Cinema will produce it.
“Sana, si Direk Cathy (Garcia-Molina) ang mag-direk,” she added.
It was Cathy who directed her last movie with Daniel, “The Hows of Us,” and also her record-breaking movie with Alden Richards, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
“Hello” reportedly earned close to one billion pesos during its run.
“Hello” will reportedly be shown in Thailand soon.
