Julia Montes is ‘Mother’ in ‘Saving Grace’

Leading content provider ABS-CBN and Nippon TV, Japan’s top entertainment network, are collaborating on the tenth adaptation of the popular Japanese drama “Mother” for Filipino audiences. This adaptation, titled “Saving Grace,” will feature The Eddys 2024 best actress Julia Montes in the lead role.

Originally broadcast by Nippon TV in 2010, “Mother” has garnered critical acclaim and become the most exported scripted format in Asia. The series, which centers on themes of love and motherhood, has been successfully adapted in numerous countries, including Turkey, South Korea, Ukraine, Thailand, China, France, Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Mongolia.

The Philippine version marks the tenth international adaptation of this celebrated drama.

Julia Montes, known for her diverse and compelling roles, joins the ranks of actresses who have portrayed the pivotal character of mother in various international adaptations. Her involvement in “Saving Grace” promises to showcase a new dimension of her acting prowess.

“Saving Grace” is scheduled to air in 2025. The gripping narrative follows a struggling teacher who impulsively abducts a young student suffering from abuse at home, leading to a nationwide manhunt.
