Actor-producer Jacky Woo was his charming, humble and funny self when he met with select members of the press recently for an update on his plans to produce films and look for new talents to include in his productions.

The actor-producer flew in town from Japan to signal his intention to resume his entertainment career in the Philippines. Before he flew back to Japan last weekend, he said he has already gotten four offers for projects. He plans to star and produce movies again and upon his return to the Philippines next month, he will be holding a series of auditions in Bulacan, Cavite, Cabanatuan, and Pampanga to discover new actors he will be including in his new projects.

“I am looking for three to five fresh talents who have a good heart,” he said, adding that he wants people who are not only passionate with their craft but also not nice and pleasant co-workers.

The Japanese national was unsure when he was last in the Philippines, but what he remembered most is working with amazing actors like Bela Padilla and Robin Padilla. He found Bela, his partner in the award-winning film “Tomodachi,” an amazing drama actress.

She has a kind heart and was nice to everyone, cast and crew alike, said Jacky.

“She has one face; she is the same before the cameras and behind the scenes,” he explained.

He also worked with Bela’s uncle, Senator Robin in “Alab ng Lahi” in 2003 and was surprised to know that the action star is now a politician.

He would like to work with Rufa Mae Quinto in a comedy.

“Comedy lang, hindi love story. No kissing scene matatawa ako, teka teka,” he said with a chuckle.

One actress who he would want to act alongside with is Vilma Santos.

“I have high respect for her. Long time ago, napanood ko ‘Anak.’ Number one,” he said.

“Idol ko siya. Syempre naman. Gusto ko siya makasama sa pelikula…”

He said one scene in “Anak” made him cry. “Walang dialog pero naiyak ako,” he said.

When asked if he would like to work with another award-winning actress, National Artist Nora Aunor, Jacky immediately said yes.
