Actress Marian Rivera stars in the fantasy comedy “My Guardian Alien,” premiering on GMA primetime on April 1.

It’s no secret the “Primetime Queen” decided to take a break from showbiz, choosing to be a full-time wife to host-actor Dingdong Dantes and their kids Zia and Ziggy. Now, she believes the wait is worth it as “My Guardian Alien” is the right project – something that features her playing the role closest to her heart.
“Ito na ‘yung moment ko sa buhay na sa tuwing may gagawin ako, gusto ko maging proud ‘yung mga anak ko sa akin, so ito na ‘yun, ‘yung ‘My Guardian Alien,’” she said at the show’s press con last Thursday at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Marian also acknowledged how happy she was working with the likes of award-winning Zig Dulay and how easy it was to act opposite actor Gabby Concepcion, who was supposed to be her co-star in a project years ago.
“Mga moment namin, mahilig siyang mag joke. Ginagawa nyang light talaga,” Marian said of Gabby. “’Yung mga pagkakataon, kaya na appreciate ko siya, pag pinag-uusapan namin ‘yung mga buhay buhay namin, nasabi ko nga na sa tanong na kung meron akong gusto maging magpalit for one day, sabi ko siya, kasi nakita ko kung gaano niya kamahal ‘yung pamilya niya. At ‘yun na appreciate ko sa kanya, napakabuti nyang tao.”
Gabby, for his part, welcomes the chance to finally be paired with Marian.
“G ako para suportahan si Marian sa pagbabalik nya,” said the actor, “Para matuto ako kay Direk Zig sa kagalingan niya at sa kagalingan ni Marian.
“Ako naman ever since very supportive ako sa buong cast, kung anong pagagawa sa’kin gagawin ko,” he said, adding he had to shed tears in the series, something he does not normally do.
Under the helm of Zig Dulay, “My Guardian Alien” showcases the long-awaited tandem of Marian as Katherine and Gabby as Carlos. Together with their son Doy (Raphael Landicho), Katherine and Carlos give viewers an out-of-this world experience.
Actress Max Collins is also in the cast as Venus, a business partner of the Sorianos and Katherine’s mortal enemy.
Completing the star-studded cast are Gabby Eigenmann as Dr. Ceph, a psychiatrist and Carlos’ friend; Marissa Delgado as Nova, Katherine’s mom-in-law; Kiray Celis as Marites, the talkative helper of the Sorianos; Josh Ford as Aries, a teen who works at the farm of the Soriano family; Caitlyn Stave as Halley, the smart and independent sister of Venus; and Christian Antolin as Sputnik, the loyal caretaker of the farm.
“My Guardian Alien” will air weeknights at 8:50, starting April 1. The program also has a delayed telecast on GTV at 10:50 p.m.
