“Grateful Tuesdays” host Pinky Tobiano and Teacher Georcelle Sy danced with the streetchildren-vendors of Barangay Katipunan, Quezon City, last Friday, September 15.
“Awesome. What a feeling… sharing blessings to the street children-vendors of Katipunan,” said Tobiano. “At first, those streetchildren- vendors of cold drinks and sampaguita garlands were hesitant… if they join the dance workshop of Gforce, they’d lose sales. So I bought all their goods for the day, all of them.
“These streetkid-vendors enjoy doing Tiktok… They idolize Gforce so when they danced with Teacher G and the Gforce, you can see the joy and happiness in their faces… it truly feels so good being a blessing to others.”
And why is Georcelle Sy of Gforce doing this with Pinky?
“I was a recipient of good deeds myself… My education in dance was all through scholarship. So, any kind of sharing has been a joy for me. It’s my way of giving back. This invitation from Achi (Pinky) is a blessing,” said the famous choreographer.
“After teaching the kids, it feels like reliving my younger days – me as a kid playing, dancing with the neighbors!” she added.
Host Pinky added: “I’m grateful to Teacher Georcelle in giving back… The Harvard Business School (OPM) gave gifts to the streetkid-vendors… Thanks also to Miss Anna Magkawas… to Mike Carandang and Super Sam for all the food for the street kids.”
