Supreme Actress Lovi Poe is on cloud 9 these days. Reason for this are the glowing reviews she received for portraying Iris Castillo-del Rosario in the Philippine adaptation of “Flower of Evil.” The series was Lovi’s first entry in the suspense – mystery and action genre. “At least for the duration of this series I fulfilled my dream of being an ‘Action Queen’,” sayid Lovi. “
The people on our set started calling me LPJ or ‘DA Queen’ in reference to my father, FPJ, and I really enjoyed having that illusion, even if it’s just for a short moment”, confessed the actress.
Indeed, as a police detective, Lovi was required to do a lot of action sequences, fight scenes, chase scenes, and instead of a purse, her accessory this time was a hand gun. “I’m really proud of our show, and I am extreme grateful for having the best production staff, the best directors and a wonderful cast,” admitted Lovi. “I loved working with all my co actors in the show because they were extremely dedicated to the project, Piolo Pascual, my leading man, was very supportive and encouraging, and so were Paulo Avelino, JC De Vera and the rest of the cast.”
What’s next for Lovi? The actress will again show another side of her personality with her musical skills, this time, to our fellow kababayans in the United States, as she takes part of “Asap NatinTo” to be staged this November 5 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. This time, Lovi shifts from action to songs.
