GMA is set to premiere “Stars on the Floor,” a new dance reality competition that brings together well-known celebrity performers and digital dance creators. The program debuts this June 28 on GMA, with Alden Richards serving as host.
The show features five Kapuso artists: Glaiza De Castro, Rodjun Cruz, Faith da Silva, Thea Astley and Patrick of VXON. Each of them brings a performance background from television, music, or live variety shows. They are joined by five content creators with large online followings: Zeus Collins, Dasuri Choi, Kakai Almeda, JM Yrreverre and Joshua Decena. Together, these celebrity and digital stars form weekly duos who take on themed dance challenges incorporating various styles and creative concepts.

The format is non-elimination. Instead, teams earn points in each episode as they compete for the top spot on the leaderboard, with the highest-scoring duo winning a prize for their chosen charity.
The judging panel, called “The Dance Authority,” includes actress Marian Rivera, comedienne and former professional dancer Pokwang and SB19 choreographer Jay Joseph Roncesvalles. The three evaluate performances based on emotion, entertainment value, technique and creativity.
Assisting the pairs are professional dance coaches led by MJ Arda, head choreographer and co-founder of the A-Team dance crew.
Performances will feature a range of dance genres including hip-hop, jazz, ballroom, and Latin styles. The program also offers digital content, such as behind-the-scenes footage and rehearsal coverage, available online through GMA platforms and hosted by Sparkle artists Lexi Gonzales and Shan Vesagas.
“Stars on the Floor” airs every Saturday at 7:15 p.m. on GMA.
