Media powerhouse GMA Network, global film and television producer-distributor CreaZion Studios, and pan-Asian streaming leader Viu have teamed up for the revenge drama “Beauty Empire.”
The collaboration was made official during a contract signing held last March 17 at GMA Network Studios.
Representing the three companies were Annette Gozon-Valdes, senior vice president for programming, talent management, worldwide, and support group, and president and CEO of GMA Films; Anter “RJ” San Agustin, president and CEO of CreaZion Studios, and Real Florido, executive vice president and chief content officer of CreaZion Studios; and Vinchi Sy-Quia, country manager of Viu Philippines, and Garlic Garcia, creative content officer of Viu Philippines.
In her message, Atty. Gozon-Valdes underscored how the latest collaboration with two industry players is aligned with GMA’s vision of creating more content for diverse audiences.
“I would like to thank our partners, Viu and CreaZion, for uniting with GMA to bring you this very special project. Alam naman natin na ang lahat ng Pilipino ay nagsisikap, dumidiskarte, nagpapakahirap, at gustong umasenso para sa pamilya. But in this particular series, we will show you, in a very different and modern way, what millions of Filipinos are doing now. And I’m very happy that two of our most beloved and best GMA artists are leading ‘Beauty Empire’ – Barbie Forteza and Kyline Alcantara.”
Created by award-winning filmmaker Real Florido and seasoned screenwriter Rona Co of CreaZion Studios, “Beauty Empire” is a fresh take on a Filipino story that inspires everyone to redefine their own beauty standards — while giving viewers an insider look into the local beauty industry.
For Viu Philippines, the collaboration with GMA and CreaZion is part of its focus to bring high-quality Filipino entertainment to global audiences digitally.
Produced by GMA Public Affairs, based on the original concept by CreaZion Studios, “Beauty Empire” delves into the fierce rivalry among powerful women in the cutthroat beauty industry where ambition, revenge, and power take center stage.
The series is headlined by Barbie Forteza, Ruffa Gutierrez, Kyline Alcantara, and Gloria Diaz, who attended the contract signing together with cast members Sam Concepcion, Choi Bo Min and Chai Fonacier. Award-winning actor Sid Lucero is also part of the cast.
Also in attendance from GMA Network were Nessa Valdellon, senior vice president for Public Affairs; Arlene Carnay, VP for Public Affairs; Neil Gumban, senior assistant VP for Public Affairs; Joy Madrigal, assistant VP for Public Affairs; Mildred Zarah Garcia, officer-in-charge for Program Management; Concepcion Agnes, senior assistant VP for Program Management; and Jojo Aquio, assistant vice president for Corporate Communications. The “Beauty Empire” team was represented by senior program managers JM Cobarrubias and Karen Lumbo, along with supervising producer Bats Candelaria.
From CreaZion Studios, also present were Jon Verzosa, chief of staff; Rona Co, creative manager; Maureen Manuel, in charge of PR and brands partnerships, and Nieva Magpayo, project manager.
Also attending from Viu Philippines were Mil Alcain, project manager, content partnerships; Sophie Agunat, project manager; and Stacey Bascon, lead, Development.
“Beauty Empire” is currently in production and is scheduled to premiere soon on Viu before it makes its debut on GMA.
