Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have officially confirmed the end of their relationship, according to statements released yesterday, September 18, by their respective talent agencies, Star Magic and Viva Artists Agency.
Star Magic, which manages Gerald, stated that the two stars “have mutually decided to end their relationship,” and asked the public to respect their decision.
“We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives,” the statement read. “Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support.”
Meanwhile, Viva Artists Agency, which represents Julia, clarified that the breakup happened “amicably” and “for some time now.”
“On behalf of our artist, Viva Artists Agency confirms that Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson have mutually and amicably parted ways for some time now,” Viva said.
The agency also addressed recent rumors and speculation surrounding the breakup.
“The circulating speculations in recent weeks regarding the reason for their breakup are unfounded and baseless,” the statement continued. “We emphasize that only information coming directly from Julia or Gerald should be regarded as accurate, as they are the primary parties involved. Any other claims are merely attempts to ride on the issue or to spread false information.”
The couple confirmed their relationship in 2021. In March of this year, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that photos of Gerald had disappeared from Julia’s Instagram feed, sparking breakup rumors.
As of this writing, neither Gerald nor Julia has issued a personal statement.
