“King of Talk” Boy Abunda makes his highly-anticipated television comeback to his first home, GMA Network, as he signed his exclusive contract last December 15.
Present during the momentous event were top executives led by chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, president and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., executive vice president and chief financial officer Felipe S. Yalong, and GMA SVP for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable.
Boy revealed that he is happy and grateful to return as a Kapuso and also teased the viewers about his upcoming project in GMA, “We started to brainstorm. We started to talk about content. Ano ba ang ginagawa ngayon, what’s happening in the environment now, kailangang aralin. I’d like to be able to have meaningful and fun conversations with [various Kapuso personalities].
Atty. Gozon shared how fortunate GMA is to welcome Boy Abunda once again. “Kami ay nagagalak na si Boy Abunda ay nagbabalik sa Kapuso Network. Si Boy ang King of Talk na marami ang gumagaya ngunit hindi siya napapantayan. I am confident that Boy’s future in GMA Network will be nothing but success.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Duavit highlighted the lasting accomplishments of Boy. “Nag-umpisa si Boy noon as a budding publicist and over the years, I’ve seen him grow and evolve to become what he’s now referred to as the icon. It’s a great pleasure for all of us that you’re coming back home. We are all proud to have you back.”
Rasonable, on the other hand, reminisced about their long journey with the “King of Talk.”
“It was all worth it. Isa lang ang masasabi ko, welcome home Kuya Boy and I’m so excited for all the things that we will be doing together. It will be really an exciting and entertaining year next year for us here in GMA and thank you for deciding to come back to your home network.”
