By combining business acumen with a focus on public service, Sam Verzosa measures success not just by profit, but by the positive impact on communities.
In 2023, Verzosa launched “Dear SV,” a public service program that began on CNN Philippines and is now in its second season on GMA. The show highlights the stories of ordinary people and provides support through sustainable livelihoods, scholarships, and financial assistance. Verzosa sees the program as a tribute to his late father, whose values of perseverance and helping others continue to influence him.
Verzosa has also joined “Wil to Win,” co-hosted by Willie Revillame, which offers opportunities for participants to improve their lives through entertainment and prizes. He noted how the show complements his mission of uplifting those in need.
In June, Verzosa returned to his hometown of Sampaloc for an Araw ng Kalayaan initiative, leading outreach programs as a representative of the Tutok To Win Partylist. He donated 17 multi-purpose “Serbisyo Vans” for emergency response and civic services and introduced mobile clinics equipped with medical tools like X-ray and ultrasound machines, aimed at improving healthcare access in the community. He also distributed wheelchairs to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Verzosa further demonstrated his commitment during Typhoon Carina, organizing relief efforts in Delpan and Baseco Compound, Manila. His team provided medical services and distributed essential supplies to affected residents.
In Congress, Verzosa has sponsored several bills, including House Bill 4827, which proposes the establishment of E-Skwela Hubs to enhance digital learning for underprivileged students, and House Bill 4829, the Online Philippine Pharmacy Act, which aims to regulate online pharmacies. He also introduced the Poor Job Applicants Discount Act, which seeks to reduce costs for job seekers by providing discounts on government-required certifications.
Verzosa’s ability to blend his business expertise with public service is central to his leadership. As president of Maserati Philippines and CEO of Frontrow, he uses his entrepreneurial skills to support community development programs, including livelihoods and scholarships.
