Lyn Macanas, the CEO of Chrizmarie Builders and Construction Supply, is far from your typical executive. A former domestic worker who rose from humble beginnings in Samar, she didn’t come from wealth or rely on connections to build her empire. Instead, she worked tirelessly. She was a sari-sari store owner before becoming a liaison officer at a construction company where she learned the ropes. Today, she stands as a trailblazer in the male-dominated construction industry and is now venturing into the world of beauty with her upcoming LM Make Up and Skin Care line.
Last Saturday, Ma. Linda “Lyn” Macanas of Chrizmarie Builders signed a joint venture with Kwan Wannathong of Vega Cosmetics Thailand for the LM Make Up and Skin Care, expected to be out in the market this 2025.
The contract signing was held at Hilaya of Nuwa Hotel in Parañaque City last March 8 and witnessed by Vega Cosmetics president Prathomsak Techavetcharoen under the supervision of lawyers Gem Arellano and Chokanan Chamni. The children of Macanas and the family of Wannathong, who flew from Thailand, were also present for the event.
The upcoming LM Make Up and Skin Care line is designed specifically for Asian skin, utilizing French and Spanish innovations to cater to the Filipino climate and complexion. The product range will include soaps, creams, lotions, and serums, with plans for distribution across the Philippines and Southeast Asian.
The decision to sign the joint venture on International Women’s Day highlights Lyn and Kwan’s shared commitment to women’s empowerment. Both entrepreneurs come from humble beginnings and have built successful businesses in their respective industries.
From breaking barriers in construction and now venturing into the beauty industry, Lyn Macanas continues to inspire. When asked if she would be willing to have her story made into a film, she admitted to getting offers and seriously considering it. Who would she want to pick to play herself?
“Gusto ko talaga si Vilma Santos,” she said, enthusiastically.
Lyn considers the award-winning actress-politician the ideal choice to play the role, with Kathryn Bernardo playing the younger version of herself. “Totoo si Kathryn,” she said, “‘Yung aura kasi ng buhay parang nakikita ko sa kanila.”
