If the local entertainment scene is dominated by girl group BINI and boyband SB19, there’s also a rising act steadily making their mark and proving that there’s room for everyone under the sun.
Just this Monday, Magic Voyz took the stage at Viva Cafe in Cubao. The group is composed of the good-looking and talented Jhon Mark Marcia, Juan Paulo Calma, Mhack Morales, Rave Obado, Jace Ramos, Ian Briones, and Johan Shane, who also serves as the composer of the group’s original songs.
They serenaded the Viva Cafe crowd with “Wag Mo Akong Titigan,” a catchy, feel-good tune that’s perfect for a sing-along. The group also charmed the audience with crowd favorites like “Mahal Na Mahal Kita,” “Honey, My Love (So Sweet),” and “Palagi.”
Jace Ramos and Johan Shane led an enthusiastic sing-along to the TikTok hit “Maybe This Time,” and Johan gave a standout performance of the current earworm “Sining,” showcasing his vocal prowess.
Their performance wasn’t just about the music – Magic Voyz turned up the heat with their sultry moves, dancing to Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” and Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic.”
While they are relative newcomers, the boys were undeniably fun, quickly winning over the crowd. With time and more confidence, they could easily shed their initial shyness, but as it stands, they already had the Viva Cafe audience entertained.
Proud talent manager Lito de Guzman, who previously handled groups like Baywalk Bodies and Batchmates, was thrilled to introduce his latest project. Missing the energy of managing groups, he formed Magic Voyz, naming them after the striptease act Magic Mike, also a hit movie starring Channing Tatum. Like the Magic Mike crew, the members of Magic Voyz aren’t just performers–several have also acted in films.
“Nakikita ko kasi ang trend ngayon na patok ang grupo na lalaki, so naisip bakit hindi ako mag-training ng mga boys na mga nag-lead na sa mga movies?
“Nakakaawa kasi sila, gusto ko may patutunguhan din ‘yung paghuhubad nila, kumbaga versatille showcase ang packaging.
“Sexy actor pero may talents, knows how to sing and dance aside from acting,” Lito de Guzman shared.
When asked what sets Magic Voyz apart, the members confidently said it’s their unique ability to make “magic” on stage. They’re determined to prove it.
