Despite her dedication, Teacher Jean once faced self-doubt before stepping into the national stage.

“Bisaya ako. My accent is matigas. Paano ‘yun kapag nagkamali ako sa TV? Dapat kapag teacher, dapat perfect ka sa TV. Baka pagtawanan ako because of my accent,” she admitted. But instead of allowing these insecurities to hold her back, she embraced them as part of her identity.

“There is beauty in regionalism,” she emphasized.

Instead of hiding her accent, she proudly carries it, showing that Filipino culture is beautifully diverse.

Another challenge she faced was her age. “I’m almost sixty. I’m not here para sumikat but to be of service to my fellow teachers at sa lahat ng Pinoy. I am here because I want to serve.” This unwavering dedication drives ‘Filipino at Heart’, proving that passion and purpose know no age limit.

Every episode of “Filipino at Heart” offers an engaging and meaningful experience for the whole family. It is a TV show that uplifts, educates and inspires. With a variety of segments, the show ensures that cultural appreciation is both entertaining and educational:

Another is the historical explorations – taking viewers on fascinating journeys to important historical sites across the country. Other possible segments will be traditional crafts, culinary delights, musical performances, guest spotlights, to name a few.

Through these segments, Teacher Jean hopes to ignite a deeper appreciation for Filipino heritage, particularly among the younger generation.
