Families and pet lovers gathered to celebrate the release of “The Legend of Ochi,” a new family adventure film distributed by A24.

The film, directed by Isaiah Saxon in his feature directorial debut, is produced by Jonathan Wang (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”), Richard Peete (“Blue Ruin”) and Traci Carlson (“Killer Sally”). The cast includes Helena Zengel, Finn Wolfhard, Emily Watson and Willem Dafoe.

“The Legend of Ochi” explores the profound, wordless bond between humans and animals, a central theme that inspired Saxon to create a richly imagined world. CreaZion Studios supports storytelling that reflects societal values and encourages cultural awareness, especially in promoting empathy toward animals.

“With A24’s timely release of a family film, we hope that viewers will become more mindful of nature and its creatures. We hope to instill the importance of being better stewards of the Earth,” stated RJ Agustin, CEO of CreaZion Studios.

In celebration of this release, CreaZion Studios partnered with SM Super Pets Club and Hello Dolly to host a special Easter event. Pet owners and their furry companions were treated to a day of activities, culminating in a talk by Dr. Czarina Arbis, senior veterinarian at Golden Fur. She emphasized responsible pet ownership and encouraged the community to report animal abuse through the proper legal channels.

“We document what’s happening, and we report it to the proper authorities like our barangays and Local Government Units (LGUs), because they are the ones who have the power. It’s understandable that some may post about abuse on social media, but we hope that people also do their due diligence by reporting it through the proper legal channels too,” said Dr. Arbis.

“The Legend of Ochi” opens in major cinemas nationwide this April 25.
