The intriguing story and the director – Crisanto Aquino – are the main reasons she accepted the offer, said Claudine.

“Excited and inspired. Syempre pag matagal ka na hindi nakaka work, tapos bigla kang may work, syempre nakaka-inspire,” the “optimum star” said.

There was no paninibago even after her years’ long hiatus, as the actress, speaking at the recent press con of “Lovers/Liars” at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City, welcomes the chance to be in front of the camera again again via the GMA primetime soap.

“Masarap laruin ‘yung role, hindi naman ako nanibago,” she said.

“CEO sya, married sya sa isang business tycon, namatay and she takes over the company.

Everybody is trying to bring her down. Very bitter sya pero deep inside, mabuti Siyang tao talaga. She’s just really lonely and bitter,” she related.

Claudine also noted the difference since she was last on the set. “Before 24 hours minsan ang taping, 2-3 days, ngayon 12 midnight may cutoff na, parang mas spoiled ang artista,” she observed.

“Lovers/Liars” highlights the world of empowered women who struggle with authenticity and vulnerability. But life takes a turn when they get confused between genuine love and deceitful lies. Claudine plays Via Laurente, a successful businesswoman who gets entangled in an illicit affair with a younger man.

In real life, Claudine said she has remained single since breaking up with her estranged husband, actor Raymart Santiago, the father of her kids, Sabina and Santino. Claudine has two more children, Quia and Noah.

“Marami akong barkada, may best friend din akong lalaki, pero hindi boyfriend,” she said.

Has she sworn off relationships?

“Pag dumating [ang love] darating, [pero] hindi naman ako masyadong lumalabas, puro school lang at sa mga bata,” she explained.

Presented by GMA Network and Regal Entertainment, “Lovers/Liars” starts airing this November 20.

The series also stars Lianne Valentin as Hannah Salalac, a kept woman of a powerful politician who will do everything to achieve the luxuries in life & to support her family and Kimson Tan as Kelvin Chong, who comes from a once wealthy family but has since fallen from social grace because of a financial scam involving his father.

Playing an important role is accomplished actor Christian Vasquez as Victor Tamayo, a prominent & influential politician who is the possessive and abusive sugar daddy of Hannah. The series also features Michelle Vito as Andrea “Andeng” Segreto, a hardworking single mother who hustles to ensure a decent life for her son. Adding spice to the series is Rob Gomez as Joseph Mentiroso, a medical sales representative and the ex-boyfriend of Andrea who will have to confront a shocking discovery from this past relationship. Playing an interesting role is Polo Ravales as Ronnie Sandiego, a respected cardiologist who leads a secret life involving Joseph.

The series is made possible under the supervision of GMA First Vice President for Program Management Department Jose Mari Abacan and COO and vice president of Regal Entertainment Inc. and Regal Multimedia Inc., Roselle Monteverde.

The creative team behind the series is composed of Regal Entertainment’s creative consultant director Jose Javier Reyes and creative manager Noreen Capili.
