It’s all about healthy living and moderation.
A pillar in the Philippine movie and television industry, Vic Sotto is admired not only for his many achievements in the entertainment business but also his long and storied career.
His secret?
Everything in moderation, he said, as he was launched as the latest brand ambassador for Santé Barley, a leading global provider of organic health and wellness products, in Quezon City last Tuesday.
The actor-host has been a prominent fixture in the Philippine showbiz scene since the 1970s. Known for his strong commitment to a healthy lifestyle, enduring connection to fans of all ages, and dynamic onscreen presence, he’s the perfect face for a brand that’s all about promoting a better quality of life.
“Isa sa regimen ko, I only eat when it’s time to eat. I don’t eat anything in between breakfast and lunch, lunch and dinner. Hindi ako ma-junk food and sweets. ‘Pag meron, tikim tikim lang,” he said, “I take everything in moderation. Let’s say alcohol or soft drinks, lahat ‘yun in moderation. Isa ‘yun sa healthy style of living. As a matter of fact, hanggang ngayon wala akong maintenance [medicines] for hypertension and diabetes.”
Not only is Vic known for his career, he is also known for his versatility and dedication in his craft. The actor-host, one-third of local TV’s most famous “Eat Bulaga” triumvirate, headlined a dramatic film last year. Famous for his deadpan humor in sitcoms and iconic comedy and fantasy films, such as “Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote” (2010), “Enteng ng Ina Mo” (2011), and “Si Agimat, si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako” (2012), he took on his first dramatic role in one of last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival’s entries, “The Kingdom.”
It was challenging, Vic admitted, but he was up for it. He said Sante Barley had a hand in his majestic portrayal.
“First thing in the morning, pinakamaganda take Sante Barley on an empty stomach. Pag yun ginawa mo araw-araw mararamdaman mo maganda pakiramdam, mafo-fortify ang immune system, nakakadagdag pogi. ‘Yun ang Sante Barley,” said Bossing.
“Si Lakan Makisig Sante Barley agad sa umaga – bago mag-execute,” he quipped, referring to his character in “The Kingdom.”
For 18 years now, Santé has been a trusted name in health and wellness. It offers high-quality, organic barley-based products that are certified organic by BioGro New Zealand. Santé Barley is cultivated in the fields of New Zealand’s Canterbury region, ensuring superior quality and nutrient density. The brand’s other offerings include Santé Pure Barley Powder, Santé Barley Pure Capsules, Santé Fusion Coffee, and other beverages and wellness products catering to various lifestyles.
Sante’s CEO Joey Marcelo said the company is proud to have Vic on board, extolling the actor’s qualities as embodying what the brand represents: authenticity, vitality, and a proactive approach to health.
Santé Barley is renowned for its rich nutrient profile, packed with essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants.
By partnering with Vic, Santé aims to inspire Filipinos to prioritize their well-being and explore the benefits of incorporating barley grass into their daily routines. “Vic’s ability to connect with people and his genuine approach to wellness make him the perfect partner for Santé,” Marcelo said. “We’re excited to see how this collaboration will inspire Filipinos to make health and wellness a priority.”
Soon, the Vic Sotto-Santé Barley partnership will be featured in television commercials, digital content, and live events designed to educate Filipinos about the importance of organic health products.
