Move over, true crime podcasts — GMA and Viu Philippines are about to drop the ultimate whodunit with their first-ever Viu Original series, “Slay.”
Premiering March 24, this murder mystery is serving up double the drama, double the suspense and two different endings.
The story kicks off with the fiery death of fitness influencer Coach Zach (Derrick Monasterio) while filming a workout video. Enter four women with secrets darker than their Instagram filters: Sugar (Mikee Quintos), Liv (Julie Anne San Jose), Amelie (Gabbi Garcia), and Yana (Ysabel Ortega). Each has a motive, each has a past, and each is serving “pretty girl, ugly secrets” realness.
The twists and turns will keep you guessing, while the tension between the women and investigator Juro (Royce Cabrera) grows with every interrogation.
Joining the star-studded ensemble are Bernard Palanca, James Blanco, Phoemela Baranda, Chuckie Dreyfus, Simon Ibarra, Tina Paner and Matet de Leon. The series also features Sparkle artists Nikki Co, Gil Cuerva, and Jay Ortega.
“Slay” is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group, headed by officer-in-charge and vice president for drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, while the show’s creative team is led by creative director Aloy Adlawan. At the helm of this series are Rod Marmol and Jules Katanyag.
