ACTOR Donny Pangilinan donated P300,000 to a group of “kariton” vendors featured on the hit noontime show “It’s Showtime’s” segment  “Laro Laro Pick.” The donation was made through the show’s host, “Unkabogable Star” Vice Ganda.

The emotional moment unfolded after the two kariton vendors shared their inspiring stories on the show last Wednesday (Sept.24). Deeply touched by their experiences, Donny immediately reached out to Vice Ganda to express his desire to help.

“Tumawag talaga siya sa akin,” Vice shared during the live show. “Sabi niya, ‘Vice, nadurog ako. Hindi ko kinaya yung episode. May chance ba na makita ko sila ulit? Hindi kaya ng kalooban ko kaya gusto ko magregalo.’”

Donny donated PHP 15,000 to each of the 20 vendors, calling it an early Christmas gift intended to provide relief and encouragement in their daily lives.

Vice Ganda emphasized that Donny’s generosity extends beyond a one-time donation.

“Hindi lang ito ang pinangako ni Donny,” Vice said. “Hindi lang ito ang una’t huling pagtulong niya sa atin.”

In addition to Donny’s donation, Vice Ganda also shared an update on one of the vendors, Nanay Rosie, who had previously been living under a bridge. Vice announced that she had already found a new home for Nanay Rosie — a testament to the continued outreach efforts of the show.

Meanwhile, Edlyn, a raketera, won the P100,000 jackpot after correctly answering the question: “How many zeroes are in P1 trillion?”

More than a source of daily entertainment for the madlang people, “It’s Showtime” continues to evolve as a platform for real-life impact. Vice Ganda expressed hope that more viewers will take notice of the show’s efforts, particularly through segments like Laro Laro Pick, and support its mission to bring aid and inspiration to more Filipinos in need.
