DIRECTOR Jerry Lopez Sineneng is all priases for young stars Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, who are headlining their first afternoon series together, “Prinsesa ng City Jail.”
Premiering this Monday, January 13, “Prinsesa ng City Jail” is about Princess (Sofia), a young girl adopted by a jail guard. Princess is raised near a prison by her adoptive dad, Dado (Keempee de Leon). She brings light to the lives of the people around her, especially the convicted criminals.
The life of Princess changes when she meets a young inmate, Xavier (Allen), who also has his own familial issues. As their friendship blossoms, Princess teaches Xavier to forgive and forget the past. Meanwhile, Xavier leads her to her long-lost mother.
“Ang lakas ng chemistry nila,” said Sineneng. “Kahit off cam, ang lakas ng chemistry.
“Tapos yung dedication nilang dalawa, parang si Marvin [Agustin] and Jolina [Magdangal] nakikita ko. Lalo na yung pagka driven ni Marvin nung araw. Tapos ‘yung chemistry, match an match ‘yung kanilang talento,” he added.
The director said the stars’ bond translates even when the cameras are off. “Kayang-kaya nilang magdala ng kilig, kahit wala sa harap ng camera. Lakas ng chemistry nila.”
“Prinsesa ng City Jail” is more exciting with the complicated love story of Dominic Ochoa as Raymond, Denise Laurel as Divina, and Beauty Gonzalez as Sharlene.
Also in the show are Will Ashley as Onse, the childhood friend of Princess; Radson Flores as Justin, Xavier’s best friend; Pauline Mendoza as Mimi, Sharlene’s sister; Lauren King as Libby, the entitled daughter of Sharlene and Raymond; Ayen Munji-Laurel as Leilani, Xavier’s estranged mother; Jean Saburit as Sonya, Raymond’s evil mother; and Ina Feleo as Jenny, Divina’s cousin.
“Prinsesa ng City Jail” is produced by the GMA Entertainment Group, headed by senior vice president Lilybeth G. Rasonable. The show’s creative team is led by creative director Aloy Adlawan,
