Lino Cayetano reflects on a fulfilling 2024 and looks forward to 2025 with a focus on purpose.
Director-producer Lino Cayetano has had a fulfilling year, both as a family man and as a member of the creative industry. To say that he has excelled in both roles is an understatement. True to his character — one defined by integrity and service — Lino has led his family and his company toward a future filled with purpose, meaning, and fun.
We tossed 10 questions to Direk and soon-to-be Congressman Lino Cayetano, and here are his quick replies:
How do you assess 2024 in terms of work and family-life balance?

Lino Cayetano: “I always want more family time! But I’m blessed that I get to bring my kids to work sometimes, and I manage to sneak in a date night (or two) with Fille every week.”
What are the highlights of your 2024?
Cayetano: “As always, always my family time is a highlight — like our road trips to La Union with my family and close friends. Biking in Thailand with friends who are like family was another highlight. I also consider developing a new series and project with my partners at Rein a major accomplishment. Of course, deciding to enter public service again is a high point as well.”
What were the low points of your 2024?
Cayetano: “A major low point was the passing of my dear friend and mentor, Sir Deo Endrinal. He was our rock — shaping Rein Entertainment into the company we wanted it to be. As a kumpare to me and Fille, he was always there for us. His loss has left a void in our lives forever.”
What are your best lessons learned in 2024?
Cayetano: “Every year, I’m reminded of how fragile life is. We should make the most of what God gives us and pursue a life of purpose and meaning. That often leads to a life of service to others.”
What’s next for you in 2025?
Cayetano: “God willing, I will continue forging an independent path in public service. Running for Congress will help me fulfill some unfinished work from my time as mayor of Taguig City, and now Pateros as well. My main goal is to bring fresh ideas and encourage young people to get involved in government and public service.”
What can we expect from Rein Entertainment in 2025?
Cayetano: “We’re excited for everyone to finally see ‘The Bagman’ in 2025, starring Judy Ann Santos, John Arcilla, and of course, Arjo Atayde as the Bagman. We’ll also follow that up with a series we’re doing with Ian Veneracion called ‘Drug War.’ Additionally, we have a film I’m excited to share with the world, ‘Caretakers,’ starring Iza Calzado and Dimples Romana. In 2025, we’re also looking into deeper partnerships and collaborations with some of the country’s biggest studios.”
What can we expect from Lino Cayetano in 2025?
Cayetano: “God willing, I hope to be a progressive voice in Congress for Taguig and Pateros, helping to craft policy and advocate for sustainable solutions to today’s — and tomorrow’s — challenges. Maybe we can even see public servants who are not politicians. Maybe.”
How will Christmas be in your home?
Cayetano: “Very intimate. We usually have a special Christmas brunch with my mom and Fille’s sister, Doc Dyn.”
You’ve been blessing others with gifts. How about you? What gift would you want to receive this Christmas?
Cayetano: “The gift of time, and being more present for the people who need me.”
Your Christmas message to our kababayans.
Cayetano: “We’ve been through so much as a people this year. We need to celebrate life and forge deeper connections with each other. We do this with love, integrity, and consistency.”
