‘No fireworks. No gimmicks. Just her story woven through songs – Phi Palmos’

National Artist Ricky Lee said, “Iba talaga si Dulce. Total performance ‘yung ginagawa niya. Punong puno ng emosyon, kuwento at kuneksyon sa audience ang show. Bawa’t kanta nabibigyan niya ng kuwento. Walang kantang sayang, walang tapon. ‘Yun energy level niya, ‘yung husay niya at ‘yung vocal range from the first song hanggang sa huli – with three or four standing ovations – hindi nagbago ‘yung energy at husay niya sa kanyang performance. Iba talaga si Dulce!”
Master director Chito Roño, who got Dulce to sing some of his movie theme songs and even star as a mayordoma in the musical movie “Emir,” said, “I had an awesome time with Dulce’s birthday concert. Wonderful time like every song was a bravado number. No need for gimmicks, no need for dancers, just that amazing voice was enough for the event. Parang Adele Iang ang level. Salamat!”

One of the most memorable moments of the last performance came when “Asia’s Nightingale”Lani Misalucha made a surprise appearance, joining Dulce on stage for an impromptu rendition of Dulce’s jukebox hit, “Paano.” The chemistry between the two vocalists was palpable, and their voices blended together in perfect harmony, sending shivers down the spines of the audience. This special moment was a highlight of the concert, showcasing the respect and admiration that these two legends have for each other’s craft.
Dulce’s setlist was a carefully curated mix of old and new songs, showcasing her impressive range and versatility as a vocalist. She effortlessly glided between genres, from the soulful ballads that have become her signature sound to more upbeat tracks that had the audience giddy in their seats.
