‘[W]e say thank you for their love for the arts and country which have inspired many Filipinos to think critically about the community, the nation and the world’

The CompanY is a renowned Filipino vocal group known for their harmonious sound and soulful performances. Formed in our country, comprising talented vocalists from the Ateneo College Glee Club who shared a passion for music, they gained popularity in the Philippine music scene in the late 80s up to the present.

The Company’s music style is characterized by their lush harmonies, soulful vocals, and heartfelt performances. They draw inspiration from various genres, including pop, R&B, and acoustic music. Their songs often focus on themes of love, relationships, and introspection.

The Company gained widespread recognition with their hit songs, which topped the Philippine music charts. Their music resonated with listeners, and they have  became one of the most popular and most accomplished vocal groups in the country.

The group has released  30 albums (the last one is “Beautiful Day” from Star Music), featuring original compositions and covers of popular songs. They have performed in various concerts, television shows, and music festivals, showcasing their vocal talents and entertaining audiences, and we’ve listed 10 of my favorite original songs by “The Company” which we hope will find their way through their The Company 40th Anniversary Concert repertoire at The Theater at Solaire on June 14.

“Pakisabi Na Lang” (Babsie Molina, Edith Gallardo)
A song about longing and heartache, where the person asks someone to convey his feelings to a past love. It features The CompanY’s signature emotional vocals and harmonies.

“Muntik Na Kitang Minahal” (Babsie Molina, Edith Gallardo)
This track explores love that almost was — a poignant reflection on what could have been, showcasing the group’s gift for complex emotions.

“Now That I Have You” (Trina Belamide)
A romantic ballad celebrating the joy and fulfillment of finally being with the one you love, delivered with heartfelt sincerity.

“Hindi Na” (Edith Gallardo)
This song deals with moving on and letting go — a powerful expression of closure and new beginnings.

“Isang Tawag Mo Lang” (Aidon Panlaqui, Ryan Cayabyab)
A soulful plea for connection, this track longs for a loved one’s presence and assurance. It’s catchy, relatable, and full of warmth.

“Nandito Pa Rin Tayo” (Moy Ortiz)
About perseverance and loyalty in relationships — our personal anthem with this beloved group. It uplifts with optimistic harmonies.

“Sana Nga Ikaw Na” (Edith Gallardo)
A romantic ballad that expresses the desire for deep connection — a beautiful look at love’s possibilities.

“Hanggang Sa Muli” (Edith Gallardo)
A poignant song about longing and hope of reuniting with a loved one. A fitting anthem between artists and audience.

“Itutuloy” (Edith Gallardo, Moy Ortiz)
This empowering anthem embraces the future despite past heartaches — showcasing vocal strength and emotional depth.

“Para Kang Pasko” (Edith Gallardo, Moy Ortiz)
A festive, upbeat track that captures the joy of the holidays. Fun, catchy and full of vocal chemistry — embodying our “Christmas Every Day” spirit.

These songs showcase “The Company’s” ability to craft meaningful and emotionally resonant music that connects with listeners. We deliberately did not include their very first hit “Everlasting Love”  by Rina Cañiza and Luigi de Dios with additional music and lyrics by Moy Ortiz because of a legal bind, but we’ll just keep singing that song in our hearts.

On a larger context,  The CompanY is the premier Filipino group also known for their thought-provoking and socially conscious principle and music. Some of their notable contributions to nation-building include being part of major festivals and mobilizations and worthy campaigns as they support development-oriented platforms promoting positive Filipino values. These efforts highlight their commitment to promoting Filipino arts, culture and identity.

It is instrinsic in their DNA as a group that they are able to promote music that sparks conversations about social issues and inspires change. The group intelligently uses its platform to raise awareness about important causes and promote civic engagement. And the members collaborate with other artists and organizations to amplify their message and impact.

Truly, as we celebrate 40 years of  The  Company’s music and friendship, we say thank you for their love for the arts and country which have inspired many Filipinos to think critically about the community, the nation and the world we live in, and pro-actively get involved in continuously creating positive change. Keep it up, and we’ll always keep you company!
