Actress Barbie Forteza is embracing new beginnings this year — from a bold role in the GMA Public Affairs revenge drama “Beauty Empire” to a lifestyle centered on balance and purpose.
Produced by GMA Public Affairs, based on an original concept by CreaZion Studios, and presented as a Viu Original Series, “Beauty Empire” reimagines Filipino storytelling. The series challenges conventional beauty standards and encourages viewers to define them on their own terms.
To mark the shift, Barbie debuted a short haircut on Instagram with the caption “She’s ready.” The new look reflects not just a character transformation but a personal one, signaling a more grounded and intentional outlook.
Off-screen, Barbie has focused on self-care and growth, finding joy in simple activities like cafe hopping and running. She first shared her “runner era” in February with an early morning jog alongside Sparkle artists Alden Richards and Kristoffer Martin. Since then, running has become part of her routine.
She’s not just running for fitness but with purpose. In April, she joined her first official fun run for children with cancer, completed a 10K for Save the Children Philippines and participated in events supporting violence prevention against women.
From taking on more empowered roles to prioritizing wellness, Barbie is setting the pace for a more meaningful and intentional chapter — on screen and in real life.
