BINIBINING Pilipinas 2022 titlists Chelsea Lovely Cabias Fernandez of Tacloban City, Gabrielle Camille Celada Basiano of Borongan City and Roberta Angela Santos Tamondong of San Pablo City were given a rousing sendoff last Monday, bringing family, friends and pageant media together to wish them well on their pageant journeys, at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Basiano, wearing a beaded, flimsy floor-length diaphanous dress by Ken Batino and Jevin Salaysay, will vie for Miss Intercontinental at Merdaki Resort in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt on October 14.
This 5’9″ stunner is aiming for a back-to-back win, hoping reigning Miss Intercontinental Cinderella Obeñita will crown her anew, being Cinderella’s predecessor at the Binibining Pilipinas finals last June 27.
Chelsea Lovely Cabias Fernandez, a 5-foot-7 multi-titled beauty queen from Leyte will compete for The Miss Globe finals at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, Albania on October 15.
Wearing a fully beaded gold on black dress by Angela Taloza, Chelsea, like Gabrielle, is aiming for a second consecutive victory at the pageant that was won last year by her Binibining Pilipinas predecessor Maureen Montagne.
The youngest titlist, Laguna charmer Roberta Angela Santos Tamondong, only 19, will vie for the country’s first Miss Grand International crown in Indonesia after runner-up finishes in 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2020.
Wearing a stunning tassled emerald green gown by Val Taguba, Roberta will join her fellow delegates for the 10th Miss Grand International to be held at Sentul Convention Center, Bogor Regency, Bogor, Indonesia on October 25.
The send-off program was also attended by Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo, Binibining Pilipinas first runner-up Herlene Budol and Binibining Pilipinas second runner-up Stacey Gabriel who expressed their message of support to their queen-sisters. BPCI Chairperson Stella Araneta also relayed a message to the queens through BPCI Executive Committee member Irene Jose.
The pageant mentors of Chelsea, Gabrielle and Roberta – Rodgil Flores of Kagandahang Flores, Ro-el Lacanienta of RL Angels and Gerry Diaz of Aces and Queens, respectively – also delivered their wishes for the ladies.
Coming from one of the, if not the best batch of Binibining Pilipinas winners, pageant fans seem to agree that Gabrielle, Chelsea and Roberta are ready to top the continents, conquer the globe and ace the competition in grand fashion.
