Bea Alonzo has formally signed up with GMA last week.
This means the actress has left ABS-CBN, where she started her career twenty years ago.
Speaking at the Zoom press con Thursday, Bea said she’s feeling excited about the new possibilities that GMA offers to her and she is all set to go on her first lock-in taping after her scheduled trip to the US soon.
After her US sojurn, she said she will dive into her new assignments, including a Viva-GMA Films movie with Alden Richards, who was her partner in a shampoo commercial some years ago.
Bea said she is open to working with several Kapuso stars and interested in seeing their acting interactions whether in film or TV. Some of those she mentioned were Dingdong Dantes and wife Marian Rivera, Derek Ramsay, and Dennis Trillo. She is thrilled with the welcome she got from Kapuso executives, including GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Vice President for Drama Productions Redgie Acuña-Magno, GMA Vice President for Business Development Department III Darling de Jesus-Bodegon, and GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara.
On the possibility of working anew with perennial partner John Lloyd Cruz, Bea is hopeful.
The actor, who last appeared on ABS-CBN in 2017, is said to be prepping for a project on GMA. Bea said she teased Idan — John Lloyd’s nickname — about the possibility of her guesting in his sitcom.
“‘Yung kay Idan, kanina binibiro ko sya, baka pwede niya akong i-guest,” she told vlogger Allan Diones.
Diones asked Bea if she thinks she and John Lloyd are somewhat connected by fate. Bea and John Lloyd are one of the country’s most popular team ups. They starred in hit movies, such as “Close To You” (2006), “One More Chance” (2007), “Miss You Like Crazy” (2010), “The Mistress” (2012), “A Second Chance” (2015) and top-rated shows Kay “Tagal Kang Hinintay” (2002), “Maging Sino Ka Man” (2006), and “Beautiful Affair” (2012).
“Hindi ko alam sa kanya. Baka sinusundan ako ni John Lloyd. Hindi ko pa siya talaga nakakausap because… I value the confidentiality of the contract,” she said.
“With his deal wala akong alam,” she continued.
“Posible pa rin kaming magkasama sa teleserye. Sana,” she added. “Para nga, ayaw talagang paghiwalayin ng tadhana kami.”
