bb.q Chicken, the popular Korean fried chicken chain owned by Kim Singson — CEO of KAS Restaurant Group and daughter of former Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson — is on the hunt for a brand endorser.
During the grand opening of their 15th branch at Robinsons Antipolo, Kim, alongside Tanya Llana, vice president of Genesis BBQ Asia, shared that they are looking for a new ambassador to represent their growing chain.
“We’re open to both Filipino and Korean personalities,” said Llana, adding that they plan to open 15 more branches this year.
The ideal candidate? “Someone who’s family-oriented and a true food lover,” they said.
bb.q Chicken prides itself on being a family favorite. The brand serves high-quality chicken and meats that are locally sourced and fresh, while all other ingredients are imported directly from Korea.
“We want to bring more of Korean culture into the brand,” Tanya shared. “We’re looking at possible tie-ups or collaborations with K-pop or K-drama artists.”
Last year, the brand brought K-drama star Lee Seung Gi to the Philippines. “There’s nothing concrete yet for this year, but we’re still huge fans of his and hope for something in the future,” she added.
In addition to seeking a new face for the brand, bb.q Chicken is also exploring collaborations with Filipino chefs.
“Chef Tatung was our first, for the Independence Day adobo flavor,” said Tanya. “We’re now looking at incorporating regional flavors — maybe kesong puti for Antipolo, Pampanga, or Laguna. We have a lot planned for this year.”
Currently, bb.q Chicken offers over a dozen flavor variants, including adobo, creamy onion and orangey citrus chicken.
Kim also proudly announced that the Robinsons Antipolo location is one of their largest, featuring a 130-seat capacity, a spacious VIP room and a mezzanine floor.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by none other than former Governor Chavit Singson, alongside other VIP guests.
