Barbie and David venture into new territory in the highly-anticipated TV adaptation directed by Enzo Williams airing Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. on GMA and at 9:40 p.m. on GTV.

The chemistry between Barbie and David is undeniable, promising to deliver swoon-worthy nights to viewers. Yet, this time, fans can anticipate an even deeper connection, enriched with humor and heart-pounding action stunts.

Starting this week, viewers will be introduced to the story of Monique and Carding, two individuals hailing from vastly different worlds. Barbie is Monique, an heiress to a business empire, finds her life in grave danger, while David is Carding, a petty thief with a heart of gold, cares for orphaned children. Fate intervenes, and the two are destined to cross paths, uncovering a shared past that could either unite or tear them asunder.

Barbie, taking on the dual roles of Monique and her boyish alter ego, Dino, shared insights into her preparations for the series: “I watched one of my favorite actresses, Hilary Swank, to get a reference for the role of Dino. Then I thought of making Monique more sophisticated and liberated to emphasize the difference between the two characters. I always like to challenge myself into making my characters more complex yet relatable and full of depth.”

David, on the other hand, highlighted the challenges of portraying Carding, noting, “Hindi naman ako nahirapan sa action scenes because I always work out and I’m an athlete. Pero ‘yung memorization of action scenes, it’s not that easy. Also, sanay ako na palaging mayaman ang roles ko, but with Carding, talagang 180 degrees turn around siya. Kaya ‘yun ang naging challenge sa’kin.”

Barbie confessed to feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement about this monumental project: “I am honored and grateful to have been entrusted with a remake of such an iconic film. It’s a good kind of pressure because my characters are tweaked to fit me, so I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome of our show.”

David takes each day as it comes, giving his best in every moment: “I feel grateful to GMA for this opportunity. This all happened because of ‘Maria Clara At Ibarra,’ so I just want to thank Direk Zig Dulay and everyone who believed in me. And now it’s ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’ with Barbie. It’s always such a treat to work with her. Gusto ko ring pasalamatan ‘yung fans. Because of them, nakuha ko ang role na ito.”

In addition to Barbie and David, the special limited series features an ensemble cast including Juancho Triviño as Gilbert Arnaiz, Faith Da Silva as Cleo Ramirez, Mikoy Morales as Gordon a.k.a. Libag, and Rain Matienzo as Tetay.

Completing the star-studded cast are E.R. Ejercito as Boss Frank, Jeric Raval as Alex, Jean Saburit as Shonda, Juan Rodrigo as Miguel, Antonio Aquitania as Jonas, and Jean Garcia as Belinda Salazar with Al Tantay as Osmundo and Tonton Gutierrez as George.

This highly anticipated series is made possible under the supervision of GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable and the creative direction of Aloy Adlawan.
