Anne Curtis took to social media to convey her support for independent senatorial candidate Bam Aquino, following a chance meeting at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 recently. The unexpected encounter gave the actress-host the perfect opportunity to personally endorse Bam and his advocacies, particularly his Free College Law initiative.
The actress, who has publicly backed Aquino’s candidacy several times before, shared a photo with the former Senator, flashing the No. 5 sign — Aquino’s campaign number. Curtis also posted the image on her Instagram account as part of her “So MARCH fun” carousel album, captioning it with “bumped into someone I’m voting for!”
This marks Curtis’ third public expression of support for Aquino. Her initial endorsement came after she enthusiastically responded with a “Yes!!” to a tweet by comedian Alex Calleja, encouraging voters to include Aquino in their senatorial lists for the upcoming May elections. Curtis further reinforced her support by retweeting Aquino’s message on X, which highlighted his commitment to improving opportunities for Filipino families.
Aquino expressed his gratitude for Curtis’ continued backing, sharing his appreciation in a Facebook post. He wrote, “Masaya akong nakasalubong at nakakwentuhan ka nang saglit sa airport habang papunta sa kanya-kanyang mga flight natin! Your support means a lot to us at sa ipinaglalaban natin sa ating kampanya.” He added, “Ipapanalo natin ang laban na ito para sa madlang pipol at sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino! Libreng Kolehiyo, Siguradong Trabaho! God bless you, Anne!”
Curtis joins several celebrities who have also expressed their support for Bam, including veteran actor Edu Manzano, Dingdong Dantes, rapper/actor/director/vlogger Pio Balbuena, Bea Binene, Janine Gutierrez and veteran talent manager and entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz.
